Job requirements
Your contributions to our journey:
As a Senior Product Designer, you will own design quality and direction beyond your individual product area — and make the whole team better. Concretely, you will…
lead discovery through direct, ongoing contact with customers and users — not as a defined upfront phase, but as a continuous practice. You will challenge assumptions across stakeholder levels, discard hypotheses when evidence contradicts them, and reframe the problem space before a solution is sketched.
drive iterative design cycles for complex, cross-functional initiatives — from open-ended exploration through repeated validation to shipped, quality outcomes. This includes building functional prototypes with AI coding tools when static wireframes fall short and speed of learning matters.
think beyond feature boundaries to identify interaction and visual inconsistencies across the product, and proactively drive cross-area improvements.
establish standards for design QA and help the team deliver consistently at a high bar — including the conviction to stop or redirect work when it hasn't earned user trust.
influence product direction and roadmap decisions through well-founded design arguments — identifying unaddressed opportunity spaces and bringing user insights into strategic discussions.
You will act as a senior design voice with significant impact beyond your immediate scope. This includes:
Bringing a design critique culture into everything you do — you naturally raise the quality bar through your own work, ask hard questions, and push back on outcomes that scratch the surface rather than solving the underlying problem.
Helping others grow — you share what you know, give feedback that creates momentum, and care about the quality of the team's work as much as your own.
Contributing to how the team works with AI in design — thinking critically about where it accelerates good work and where it risks replacing depth, and helping develop patterns for AI-native experiences such as agentic workflows, conversational interfaces, and graceful failure design.
You will contribute to how we design at scale — as an active, senior voice in shaping how the team works together. This includes:
Co-evolving Flinn's design system — contributing patterns, flagging systemic inconsistencies, and helping the system grow alongside the product.
Shaping interaction principles and visual standards collaboratively — so that the product experience becomes more coherent and predictable across all areas over time.
Improving how we work — bringing ideas and experience into how we approach discovery, research, and documentation as the product and team grow.
What you need to be successful:
Equally strong in the detail and the big picture, and equally at home in the problem space as in the solution space — you bring the same rigour to a discovery interview as to an interaction decision or a strategic argument about product direction.
Taste as a strategic asset — in an era where anyone can generate UI, your ability to judge what's actually good is your real differentiator. You combine aesthetic sensibility with systems thinking to know why something works, not just that it does.
A mature, critical relationship with AI — you treat AI as a design material you understand well enough to judge: when it genuinely accelerates, and when it risks replacing the depth of thinking that makes the difference.
Strong storytelling and communication — you make design reasoning legible across disciplines and can challenge product and stakeholder decisions with well-grounded arguments.
A proactive, hypothesis-driven approach to product development — you think in outcomes, not outputs. You form assumptions, test them deliberately, and let evidence shape what gets built — rather than waiting for direction or defaulting to what's easiest to ship.
Attributes we are looking for:
5+ years of end-to-end UX/UI design experience, independently owning design for product areas — not just features — on web and/or mobile products.
Proven experience in product discovery and user research — conducting interviews, synthesizing findings, framing problems, and shaping solution directions.
Hands-on experience with AI-assisted design workflows — both in discovery (research synthesis, interview analysis, hypothesis generation) and in design execution (functional prototyping with tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or v0).
Experience designing AI-native product experiences — conversational or agentic interfaces, confidence calibration, graceful failure, or disclosure UX — is a strong plus.
Experience with complex B2B or enterprise products and multi-stakeholder user environments is a strong plus.
Prior experience contributing to a design system — working with existing patterns, proposing and documenting new ones, and helping maintain cross-product consistency.
Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy product environments is a bonus.
Background in MedTech or healthcare is a nice-to-have, not a requirement.
Fluent English is required; proficiency in German is a strong plus.
