Forward Deployed AI Engineer

To shape the development of one of our new products and to extend and scale our technical platform, we are looking for a product-minded Backend Engineer with a strong AI focus. You will build AI Native products that increase the safety of medical devices and as part of scaling Flinn, you will play a key role in growing our tech team further and building. For this position, we are looking for a new team member with a fix base in commuting distance to Berlin or Vienna to enjoy regular in person interactions paired with great flexibility for remote work.

Your contributions to our journey:

You will spend your time mainly on these tasks:

• Configure current products onsite

• Build Products with customers onsite to learn/ fast

• Supporting Sales and Customer Adoption by building AI demos/ prototypes

• Contribute to the core product by building features

In practice this will mean

• Build many AI Agents & features for specific MedTech companies.

• Relay learnings back to the Product Team.

• Be involved in defining and shaping our tech & product roadmap.

• Drive and spear-head architectural and software design decisions.

• Be hands-on in designing, developing and deploying scalable web applications.

• Mentor other team members and be involved in hiring software engineers.

We are looking for someone who is very technical and a good communicator. Someone who is willing to work very closely with customers (often onsite) to solve their problems by building products, thus having a substantial impact the MedTech industry.

What you need to be successful:

• Experience with LLMs including prompt engineering, agent development and evaluation frameworks.

• Experience building AI Agents and working with different AgentSDK.

• Proven track record of designing, implementing, delivering and maintaining complex web applications.

• Fast prototyper to test hypothesis directly with customers.

• Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript (TypeScript is a plus) and Python.

• Extensive experience building modern backend systems using Node.js (preferably using Express.js).

• Experience in frontend development with React is a strong plus.

• Ability to work closely with our customers on-site working in fast iteration cycles.

• Strong product minded thinking not just about the code but also deeply about the product.

• Travel frequently to customer sites to build in person with customers.
