Product Engineer: Backend

To accelerate the development of our products and to extend and scale our technical platform, we are looking for a product-minded Backend Engineer. You will work in an AI-first environment with people that have previously built foundational NLP models for Amazon Alexa and experienced engineers who have worked at highly successful scale-ups. This role offers a lot of remote work flexibility, while we appreciate in-person interactions at our offices in Vienna, Berlin, or Paris.

Your contributions to our journey:

• Work as part of a cross-functional team to design, develop and deploy high-quality features for our web applications to delivery value for our customers and business.
• Closely collaborate with designers, product managers, and AI engineers during the discovery of new features to ensure we solve customers problems in the most meaningful way.
• Be involved in defining and shaping our technical roadmap and platform.
• Contribute to architectural and software design decisions.
• Take part in shaping our software development processes as well as quality and security standards. In particular, by leveraging the latest AI technologies.

What you have done in the past:

• Proven track record of designing, implementing, delivering and maintaining complex web applications.
• Experience in JavaScript (TypeScript is a plus).
• Experience building modern backend systems preferably using Node.js and/or Express.js.
• Solid understanding of both relational and non-relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL and Redis).
• The ability to leverage the latest AI-technologies to increase efficiency and quality. Experience in building AI-first features is a big plus.
• Good understanding of containerization technologies (preferably Docker and/or Kubernetes) and at least one cloud computing platforms.
• Experience developing in an environment with loosely coupled services and event based communication is a plus.
• Experience in frontend development with React is a plus.
• Motivation to write clean, well-tested, well-documented and maintainable code following strict compliance rules and guidelines.
